The Faculty of Sciences at the University of Salamanca hosted visits from secondary school students on March 17 and 18 as part of the Open Days organized by the institution’s Promotion, Information, and Guidance Service.
As part of the program, the students visited the Laser Laboratory, where Ignacio López Quintas, professor and researcher in the Laser Applications and Photonics Group at the LUMES Research Center, presented the main research lines carried out in these facilities, bringing the University’s scientific activity closer to prospective students.
Through initiatives like this, LUMES reinforces its commitment to science outreach and academic guidance for young people, with the aim of fostering interest in science and technology careers. The Faculty hopes to repeat this experience in future editions of the Open Days.
