
La Consejería de Educación de la Junta de Castilla y León ha abierto el plazo para solicitar ayudas destinadas a contratar personal técnico de apoyo a la investigación en las universidades públicas de Castilla y León para jóvenes incluidos en el Sistema Nacional de Garantía Juvenil, cofinanciadas por la Unión Europea. Entre las plazas disponibles destaca nuestra plaza a Técnico de Apoyo a la Unidad de Excelencia en Luz y Materia Estructuradas (LUMES), en la Universidad de Salamanca.
LUMES reúne a aproximadamente 50 investigadores que trabajan en áreas de vanguardia como Óptica, Fotónica, Ciencia de Materiales y Magnetismo, afiliados a la Universidad de Salamanca y al Centro de Láseres Pulsados.
La principal tarea de la persona contratada será dar soporte informático al personal científico de LUMES. El/la técnico de apoyo se encargaría de implementar y gestionar programas de automatización y control de dispositivos experimentales y de adquisición de datos en dos de los laboratorios de LUMES: Laboratorio Láser y Laboratorio de Materiales Cuánticos (QMADE), de la gestión y mantenimiento de equipos informáticos, incluyendo el cluster de computación avanzada de LUMES y de dar soporte informático general a la unidad, trabajando en estrecha colaboración con su personal investigador.
Requisitos
- Estar inscrito/a en el Fichero del Sistema Nacional de Garantía Juvenil. Puedes inscribirte haciendo click aquí.
- Estar empadronado/a en un municipio de Castilla y León, en la fecha de publicación de la convocatorio y como mínimo de forma ininterrumpida durante los seis meses anteriores a la misma.
- No encontrarse incurso en ninguna de las prohibiciones que para la obtención de la condición de beneficiario que se recogen en el artículo 13 de la Ley 38/2003, de 17 de noviembre, General de Subvenciones.
- No estar disfrutando ni disfrutar a fecha posterior de un contrato similar.
- Estar en posesión de al menos uno de los siguientes títulos:
- Grado en Ingeniería Informática
- Grado en Ingeniería Industrial
- Grado en Ingeniería Electrónica, Industrial y Automática
- Grado en Ingeniería Mecatrónica
- Grado en Ingeniería de Tecnologías de la Telecomunicación
- Grado en Ingeniería de Materiales
- Grado en Física
- Grado en Matemáticas
Descripción de las principales tareas a realizar:
- Desarrollo de programas que permitan la integración y el control de dispositivos experimentales (láseres, motores, detectores…) en algún software que permita su automatización (LabView, basados en Python u otro lenguaje adecuado).
- Desarrollo de programas que permitan la operación y monitorización de los sistemas láser.
- Control de condiciones ambientales del Laboratorio Láser de forma remota.
- Dar soporte informático general a la unidad LUMES, lo que incluye la gestion y mantenimiento de los equipos informáticos de ambos laboratorios y del clúster de computación del grupo ALF-USAL.
- Otras tareas asociadas al funcionamiento de los laboratorio: redacción de manuales de usuario, control de inventario, gestión de calendarios de uso/mantenimiento, gestión de cuentas de usuario.
- Diseño 3D de piezas para montajes experimentales para su posterior fabricación (en función de la titulación y/o experiencia).

The postdoctoral researcher will join the Quantum Materials and Devices (QMADE) laboratory (https://qmade.usal.es/) at USAL, led by Dr. José Caridad.
We are dynamic and interdisciplinary experimental team combining advanced nanofabrication, low-noise transport and spectroscopy techniques to uncover exotic electronic phenomena in quantum materials.

About the project
CHIROTRONICS is an ERC-funded project that investigates intriguing chiral responses in atomically-thin quantum materials. These exotic phenomena are promising for applications in quantum technologies, optoelectronics, and biosensing.
In this position, the successful candidate will explore chiral optoelectronic properties of novel 2D materials and heterostructures at different temperatures (down to mK), and with/without the presence of an external magnetic field.
Your main responsibilities
- Design and fabricate state-of-the-art 2D heterostructures via precise stacking and alignment techniques
- Conduct low-noise electrical and optoelectronic measurements, at cryogenic temperatures and under the presence of external magnetic fields.
- Collaborate within a dynamic and interdisciplinary team of physicists, engineers, and material scientists.
- Develop your own research ideas while mentoring MSc and PhD students.
- Contribute to high-impact publications and international collaborations.
Requirements
- PhD in Physics, Materials Science, or related Engineering degree.
- Solid experience in van der Waals heterostructures and 2D material device fabrication.
- Skilled in electrical/optoelectronic characterization of nanomaterials.
- Experience in cryogen-free cryostats and/or dilution refrigerators is a strong plus
- Fluent in English (min B2).
- A strong scientific track record relative to career stage.
